Scenes from a car chase.

I was working on the car last night and I forgot to latch down the hood. I got on the freeway today and this is what happened to me.

Minus the other car damage. Yeah I was driving with the hood up against the windshield. Scary yes. Panic no. I pulled over and a state trooper was not far behind. We zip tied the hood down as the hood no longer aligned with the latch. I drive home, called my sister Amy over and we bent everything back in place. Lesson learned. Make sure the hood is latched before getting on the freeway.

Play Groups

My friend Lisa posted these pics on one of her blogs and I had to copy them over. We went to Wheeler Farm in May of 09. The kids loved the animals and we loved them discovering the animals. Scott got pecked by a chicken and stepped in duck poop but other than that it was a great outing.
I love Play groups. I love that the kids go off and torture each other and not us moms, and I love that us moms get to chat about how our days are going.

Extraction

I had a tooth pulled yesterday and all I can say is I wish I could take loritab all day. It aches.
Getting out of elementary school I have not had any more cavities until this last pregnancy. My tooth fell apart and I found pieces which is kinds funny since I have had many nightmares where my teeth are falling apart.
The only real bad part was having a piece of gauze in my mouth for hours to absorbe the blood. It made me gag.
So, always brush and floss.

Yuck

I was washing dished and Kyle was just kinda walking around. Scott was not awake yet and it was getting quiet. After like 5 minutes I realized it was too quiet. And all you mothers out there know what that means. He was doing something he was not supposed to. I went in search of my 18 month old son and I found him in the bathroom. He had a medicine cup in one hand, the kind that come with children's Tylenol and a medicine syringe, the kind that come with antibiotics, and he was having a great time drinking toilet water.
I know! How gross is that?! I had no idea what to do other than clean him up and hope Scott had flushed recently. It still makes me cringe to think of him drinking toilet water.

Let the training begin.

I have always wanted to be a runner. In high school every summer I would say I was going to join the cross country team. My high school, Mountain View, has the best cross country team in the country. No Joke. When I traveled people knew of my high school because of the cross country team. Well every morning for about 3 weeks I would set my alarm and say I was going to go running with the team. And for about 3 weeks I would turn the alarm off and go back to sleep saying I would go tomorrow.
Well then I met a really athletic friend, Trina, who for fun would run. She would run like 3 miles in the morning and sacrifice sleep for endorphins. And she was faithful. FIve days a week for at least an hour she exercised. And she was happy and healthy and was nice to her kids. That is what I want to be like.
So here I am officially committing to a 5K to start with. I don't know the name but my sister-in-law's work is doing a 5K and I said I would do it. THe most I have ever run is 3 miles and that was only once. So it will be a challenge. I think a goal of 25 minutes to finish should be a good goal right. Just under 8 minutes a mile. I can do a 10 minutes mile now and that is pushing it. Well the race is in April and I hope that even though the air is cold, the kids are heavy in the stroller and I don't run as of now, that I can run everyday, get used to the cold air and well, the kids are not getting any lighter.

Sledding

I went sledding with my good friend Trina and her family. It was awesome. It was Scott's first time sledding and he needed no instruction. He got on and went, and went, and went until he got bored with the little hill we were on, then he went and found a hill to sled off. That kid has no fear.
Kyle was more happy when he was sitting on the sled, not moving, eating and throwing the snow. I wish I could have gone down more. It was great. I need to go sometime with Stephen and find a big hill where bodily damage is likely.
